The Original Donut Chronicles follows the lives of several Sedona, Arizona locals, each trapped in their own problems. Between two vacuum cleaner repair men who are incapable of finding joy in their lives, the son of a heroin addicted, prostitute mother, an alcoholic bar fly, and two small time criminals, is Scott, a pizza delivery boy who feels stuck in his life. He’s been delivering pizza to the same burnouts every day for years, watching their wasted lives as he starts down the same path. He’s accompanied by his friend, Toot, who rides along with Scott on his deliveries although he is not on the payroll. When they deliver pizza to Goose and Gary (the two criminals), they overhear Scott joking with Toot about nine pounds of diamonds hidden under the local bar. This proves to be too much for Goose and Gary to turn down. As it is in all small towns, these lives are more connected than they choose to acknowledge. When the simple act of a bar robbery occurs, it throws a wrench into the gears of everybody’s life.
